The best skaters were selected to represent team Uganda at the upcoming Street and park world championships in Dubai from January 29th to February 12th which will act as the 2024 Olympics qualifiers.


This happened at the National street and park Open Olympics qualifiers held at Mukono Xtreme park on Sunday 15th January with Mountain Dew coming on board.

Uganda Skateboard Federation president Moses Dungu urged the athletes to incur more trainings as they head out to represent team Uganda at the upcoming Olympics qualifiers in Dubai.

“This has been the first Uganda Open qualifiers as we select the team that will represent us at the park and street Dubai World Champions which is the second round of the 2024 Olympics qualifiers.” “I would like to urge all skaters who have qualified from this Championships to put in more effort as they prepare with a lot of training. Team Uganda will hold trainings in Kitintale and in Mukono.”

James Kasumba who represented the National Council of Sports was amazed by the performances of the skaters.
“I am so amazed by the performance of the skaters who have showed quality and skills as NCS, we shall support this game at all times. This is a sport that in developed countries is used as a means of transport as well with developed road network.”
